Cannot use embedded album covers

Sun Jun 14, 2009 5:37 pm
I am using Amarok 2.1 with KDE 4.2.4 on a Gentoo AMD64 box.  Amarok was compiled with only the 'opengl' and 'semantec-desktop' flags and it is having mulitple issues, some of them going back several versions.

Obviously there is the collection management issues which I see have been posted about several times, so I'll skip that and keep rebuilding the database (isn't that the definition of insanity? Doing the exact same thing over and over again expecting different results?). The reason I am posting is because I have apparently lost the ability to use the embedded album art. I have been waiting patiently for a couple of versions now but no luck. Am I now forced to automatcally fetch covers even if they're already there, or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for the help!

It's not a problem. It's not implemented yet.

I'm waiting desperately for this feature too. IIRC Amarok will use Images as cover that are in the same folder as the mp3-files. So as a workaround I'm thinking of using a script to extract all the covers from my mp3s. I found this

but haven't been able to try it yet...
