Collection errors with MP3 files on upgrade to 2.1.1

Hi All,

My collection went quite buggy on upgrade to 2.1.1, so I trashed my .kde/share/apps/amarok directory and other amarok config files to start afresh.

Unfortunately I now can't play any MP3 file in my collection. Wheras any FLAC track works just fine, MP3s just get skipped over with no sound. Eventually a "Too many errors" dialog will come up.

Running with --debug, it seems the big difference is that playing an MP3 will result in this error:

Code: Select all
amarok:                    [ERROR!] GREPME MySQLe query failed! Table 'amarok.bookmarks' doesn't exist  on  "SELECT id, parent_id, name, url, description, custom FROM bookmarks WHERE url LIKE '%ZmlsZTovLy9ob21lL2x0bW9uL011c2ljL0IvQm9iJTIwTWFybGV5JTIwJiUyMFRoZSUyMFdhaWxlcnMvTGVnZW5kJTIwKERlbHV4ZSUyMEVkaXRpb24pJTIwKERpc2MlMjAxKS8wMSUyMC0lMjBJcyUyMFRoaXMlMjBMb3ZlLm1wMw=%'"

When playing a FLAC, it's not a problem:

Code: Select all
amarok:     BEGIN: static BookmarkList PlayUrlRunner::bookmarksFromUrl(KUrl)
amarok:        query:  "SELECT id, parent_id, name, url, description, custom FROM bookmarks WHERE url LIKE '%ZmlsZTovLy9ob21lL2x0bW9uL011c2ljL0IvQmxhZ292ZXN0L1NwaXJpdC8wMSUyMC0lMjAwMSUyMFMlMjBOYW1pJTIwQm9nLmZsYWM%'"
amarok:     END__: static BookmarkList PlayUrlRunner::bookmarksFromUrl(KUrl) - Took 0.00024s

I have no idea why the database structure would appear to change depending on the filetype I am playing, so I'm quite confused.

Any idea how to get it all working again?

Thanks,

L.

Amarok 2.1.1 from Jaunty backports repository, using KDE 4.3 RC2 and Xine backend.

Make sure to have the correct mysql version. And I guess you have the mp3 codecs installed, don't you?

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

It seems to be Xine problem, as even the basic xine ui doesn't play MP3s either ("missing demuxer" error message). The collection error message must be a side effect, or just randomly unrelated.

I have the correct packages installed (libxine1-ffmpeg), so I'm not sure why xine has randomly forgotten about mp3s.

Not an Amarok problem, except for maybe misleading debug messages, but any help is appreciated.

Cheers,

L.
