i have installed amarok with a fresh install of mandriva 2009.1 spring powerpack running kde 4.2.4-0.1mdv2009.1

my problem is that amarok does not play anything. no sound, no "movement" of musinc file advancement. nothing. when i click on "next track" a few times a small error box appears in the bottom left-hand corner , saying "too many errors encountered in playlist. playback stopped"

amarok plays under the configuration test - Settings->configure amarok->configure playback->test. i get the piano music when selecting the PulseAudio SoOund Server, my only choice.

any advice on how to actually use this software? i tried looking for a user guide, howto, etc, and found nothing.
