Hi

Ubuntu bug 211631 is an absolute killer, causing major problems with system shutdown.
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... bug/211631

I have a collection on a network share mounted into a directory in my home dir. Amarok picks up the collection, scans it and plays music fine

The problem is that the bug in question is causing so many problems with system shutdown (read: doesn't) that I'm about to pop a Fukitol and need to find another way of getting my collection over the network. Personally I can't believe that a bug like that can exist for 14 months without a non-hack solution ... but anyway... don't get me started.

I can alternately:
* browse via a DAAP share, which is preferable but unfortunately doesn't show all my music - think it has something to do with Ogg tags as the Mp3's show ok.
* move the collection to a local drive. Don't want to do this as I'm trying to keep it off my notebook for ease of backup

So I'm wondering whether it's possible to tell Amarok that the music collection is accessible via an smb:/ ioslave. e.g smb://server/media/music. I can pick up Network folders in  Amarok > Play Media but not in Configure Amarok > Collection. Is there any technical reason why the collection can't be pulled in over smb:// ?

I've tried fusesmb as an alternative to a cifs mount but it doesn't seem to work.

Thanks
