Librivox/ Opml stream fails

Thu Jul 30, 2009 11:30 pm
Using Amarok 2.0.2 under Ubuntu 9.04

I have all the other streams working and it runs perfectly but any stream from Librivox fails. The only error I get is "Too many errors in Playlist, playback stopped."

I am relatively new to Ubuntu, and completely new to Amarok, I searched the forums but I most likely didn't search for the correct things.

Any ideas? With it only being those two sections I am leaning towards believe its an issue with teh providers and not Amarok, but could be wrong.

You should upgrade to Amarok 2.1.1, available in the jaunty-backports repository since quite some time. Amarok 2.0.2 is heavily outdated.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

Is there a way to force the Update Manager to grab it? I went to Synaptic and tried there but still just using 2.0.2

Perhaps I added the Repository to the sources list wrong, not sure though

Open Synaptic, go to the Settings menu and choose the 'Repositories' option. This will open a new window. Select the 'Updates' tab and there you should select the option 'Unsupported updates (jaunty-backports)'.

Close that window, hit the 'Reload' button and amarok should show up on the right. Just select amarok for install and 'apply'.

If you don't want any other packages from the backports repository, just disable it. This will make the just installed packages show up in the 'Installed (local or obsolete)' status but will not trigger it to be removed.
