I'm new to Ubuntu and have been trying to import my music with ratings and playcount from my iTunes library into Amarok and I can't figure out how to do it. I can get all the files imported, but none of the stuff that goes along with it (ratings, play count, playlists, etc.). I'm using Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04 and Amarok 2.0.2, trying to import iTunes Music Library from iTunes 8.0.x.
Also all of the songs in Amarok from my iTunes won't play either. It just skips immediately to the next song without any audio all the way through to the last song. Does anybody know something I can try to get it working? Thanks! |

I've upgraded to the latest version, and copied my iTunes library into my 'Music' folder in ubuntu, and I edited the .xml to change the directory from //fileserver.... to /home... and it still doesn't work...
Any suggestions? I'm trying to completely remove Amarok and reinstall it again. Update: Reinstalled Amarok and my music now plays, but it doesn't import the info from itunes still

OK, I edited the iTunes xml file to change it to look for the music in my Music directory, and now it seems like its importing my music, however once it imports the last song it just crashes, and when I reopen Amarok it doesn't have any playcount or rating information for my music. Can anybody help me from here?

OK, I edited the iTunes xml file to change it to look for the music in my Music directory, and it would freeze after the last song was imported. To fix this, I deleted all the playlist information from the .xml file (because I figured thats what was causing it to freeze), however once it imports the last song it just crashes, and when I reopen Amarok it doesn't have any playcount or rating information for my music. Update: Now when I try importing it doesn't say its importing anything... it just has this:
without saying the files it was importing before, then it says it was successful, but doesn't have any files show up in my library. What am I doing wrong? |
