Hi! I am using Amarok 2.02 on Ubuntu 9.04 64bit
and although all the volume sliders are at max the music (mp3s) sounds like being at about 50% compared to other players or system sounds.
As far as I can tell this has something to do with the output driver\plugin Amarok uses.
I am new to the Linux universe so please give me step by step instructions on how to fix this.
Thank you!

Make sure that all the channels in Kmix are set correctly. Kmix can be accessed with a right click on the speaker icon in the systray section of the panel.
FYI, Amarok doesn't handle sound itself, but lets phonon do it, so this is more likely a problem in your sound settings.
You can access the sound settings in the System settings -> Multimedia section.
