Can i access frame of the videos using phonon module available in qt4.5??

Hm, I fear I don't understand your question, what videos are you talking about? Also a little more information about your Amarok version and distribution would be helpful.
FWIW, Amarok is still based on Qt 4.4

As far as I understand you want to access a single video frame of a video file using phonon, am I right? This video frame then would be a picture.

I've looked through the classes of phonon again but didn't find any class which is avaible of doing so. Maybe there's a way of using effects for this job but I'm afraid there is no easy way.

@ LBL....yeah u understood it right. Actually i want to access a frame of a video file (say mpeg video file) in the form of a picture may be QImage or in any format.

@Mamarok: Actually i am working on a Video Annotation Tool Project where i need not only to playback the video but also to manipulate (like if i want to tag a person in a video , i need to get the frame first in the form of a picture ,pixmap,qimage ). That's why i need frame level access in any given video file (say mpeg or avi). Also I need to increase fps of the video as per my requirement. I hope nw u understood it well.

Yes, using Phonon::Experimental::VideoDataOutput. Please look at for example the source code of MPlayerThumbs to see how it is used.

i have another question....can i increase fps (frames per second ) of the video being played using phonon itself or else i will have to use underlying backend library to get this functionality??

I have no idea how, at least. I haven't played much with the video stuff in Phonon.
