Well, first of all I strongly suggest you upgrade to Amarok 2.1.1, available in the jaunty-backports repository, as 2.0.2 is already quite old an pretty much outdated.
Then, you can't just change icons like this, as those are part of a whole in the application, I don't think this is possible. And it wouldn't make much sense IMHO, as the logo is part of Amarok's branding.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

thanks for the backports suggestion!
i have changed all my system tray icons just by looking in the /usr/share directory. but i can't seem to do it for amarok. i have one bright blue icon with a bunch of grayscale ones. i don't want to get rid of the wolf. i just want to change the color. is this icon compiled into the program? |

Well, that's because you are using a KDE application in Gnome, and those do not work exactly the same way when it comes to icons and themes. You can't change the color of the icon, this is how the icon is and the color is part of the branding

I was contemplating an upgrade to 2.*** from my current 1.4.10, but based on this forum topic I will stick to what I have and customise all the icons and panels to suit my themes. After all isn't that what open source and Linux is all about, individuality. If the upgraded, improved version is restrictive in its adaptability then I don't want it.

Skip 2.1.1, upgrade to 2.2 instead. It's much improved.
