You should read the bugs list, this has been reported since quite some time ago:

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=191153

I don't think it useful to report bugs on the forum, they don't belong here but in the bug tracker system.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

I would normally agree but the forum descriptor for the "help" forum is "Bug Reports, build problems, support requests".

I have this many times. Songs get mixed up in different artists and genres, and the metadata is all jacked up. However, I just rescan my collection, restart amarok, and most of it is fixed. I get different results every time I rescan...but I got one close enough so that I could just rewrite one song's metadata and be done with it.

True, but does it make sense to report bugs that are already in the bugs list and are known since quite some time? I will make a sticky note about that later :)
