Hello all,
So I installed amarok 2.2 from source under OpenSuse 11.1, but last.fm integration seems to be missing. I installed the optional dependency for last.fm and files specific to last.fm seem to exist in the installation (for example, /usr/lib/kde4/amarok_service_lastfm.so exist), bu there is not last.fm icon under Internet Services. Is there something else I should do? I tried to remove all files under ~/.kde4/share/apps/amarok/ and ~/.kde4/share/config/amarok* but this did not make any difference. Thanks, Kostas |

Did you activate it in the Settings menu -> Configure Amarok -> Internet Services ?
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Can be hardly activated, if there's no icon.
So you have lastfm0 and lastfm-devel installed? Perhaps you can post the cmake summary here after running in a fresh build dir. Does /usr/lib/kde4/kcm_amarok_service_lastfm.so exist? m0nk

I cannot find these packages, are there any repositories I should add? What I did was to download liblastfm 0.3. 0 from: http://github.com/mxcl/liblastfm/tree/master
here you are: http://pastebin.com/m74866447
Yes it does Thanks, Kostas |

Which version of KDE4 are you running?
There are lastfm packages in openSUSE repos http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/h31:/kde/openSUSE_11.1_KDE4_Factory_Desktop, but liblastfm has been found, according to cmake's output. Some libraries/devel-packages are missing, but none related to last.fm. But there seems to be some trouble with your mysql installation. Hope your mysql devel packages all have version 5.1.34 or higher. Check it or use the package from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Community/openSUSE_11.1_KDE4_Factory_Desktop/ m0nk

Thank you very much Dieter, upgrading mysql fixed the problem.
By the way, the versions of the dependencies mentioned in README are wrong. Not only for mysql (5.1 instead of 5.0), but for KDE also (4.3 instead of 4.2). Thanks, Kostas |

No, these requirements are correct, Amarok depends on KDE 4.2 or higher (it still uses Qt 4.4.) and requires at least MySQL 5.0 or higher, provided the database is compiled with the correct flags.
