Hi all --
Is it just be, or is the wikipedia applet returning less results than it used to? From what I can guess, it seems to be trying links like: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aesop_Rock_(band) where Aesop Rock is the artist's name, whereas the correct link would be http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aesop_Rock Would it be possible to fall back to the second link (dropping '(band)') if the page does not exist? thanks |

Hope this helps; if compiling from source:
edit line 226 of amarok-2.1.85/src/context/engines/wikipedia/WikipediaEngine.cpp so that the double quoted expression reads "wgArticleId=0," instead of "var wgArticleId = 0" and recompile. This seems to fix the problem (for me at least). It seems wikipedia has changed its format when returning a non-existent page. |

I added your solution to this bug report, hope we will find time to correct this before Monday:

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |
