Hello,
am i only not able to find the option or is there no way to export a playlist to ipod? I am able to export songs but in the stored playlists i found no option. If this option is not in amarok2: does someone know when it will be there? Thanks |

In my 2.2 git version, if I hold on the "save" icon below a playlist then I get an option "save playlist to <name of device>", it does not work though, however my git build is oldish ( about a week or two ).
If you use the file browser then click "Copy to Collection > Device" this works however. Note that I use an MTP device however, but I believe the device framework works pretty much the same everywhere.

Hm, if you use the git version from a week ago that is veeery old, we are preparing a release and things change on a hourly basis
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Thank you for answer, but i think you misunderstood me a little. I meaned not only exporting the files... i meant that there is really the playlist with the name of it under "stored playlists" created on my ipod. In Amarok 1 this worked.

Can no one tell me if i only make something false or if this is a feature Amarok doesn't support any more? Ones more: I mean to transfer a stored playlist to ipod in that way that it also appears as a playlist on ipod. In Amarok1 this worked by rightklick on the stored playlist.
Thanks |

I too really want to know about Amarok 2.2 and Ipod playlist support.
I'm really enjoying Amrok 2.2: it's great and it's come a looooong way since the serie 2 debut. However I thought that 2.2 was supposed to bring Ipod support back to feature parity with the serie 1. Am I wrong?

Doesn't work for me either. It just saves it as a playlist on the local drive (not on the media player).
For me, Playlists' are all jumbled up in the file browser window with no indication of whether they exist on the local drive or the media player - just all shown together. So when I try to save a playlist to the media device using the method you describe in your first post, it seems to work, until you disconnect the iPod and find that the playlist has saved on the local machine and not the media device. Could something be added to indicate where saved playlists' exist? As for the option "Copy to collection > Device" described in your first quote, I just don't have this option when I right-click on the saved playlist in the file browser window pane. |

When you click and hold down the disk icon under the active playlist area you get 3 options:
Save Playlist to "Media Device Playlist" Save Playlist to "Playlist files on disk" Save Playlist to "Internal database" |

Hmmmm. when I select [Save Playlist to "Media Device Playlist"] a new playlist entry appears in the "Saved Playlists" area. It shows up in the list order as if it were a part of the iPod's playlists (it looks like the iPods playlist come first in the list order and then comes the local collection's playlists). But the iPod display does not show anything synchronizing as it does when you perform a "Copy to -> iPod" command.
I wonder if this feature is not complete. |
