Problem is that KDE is not compiled with debugging symbols, so no useful backtrace...
amarok 2.2 with kde 4.3.1 crashes randomly (quite often...) when forward and backward in a playlist (all songs are there as they have been played already, but it also happens with a new list). It also happens while just listening to a playlist, after one song is finished, it crashes. I use replaygain. Any idea? What more useful information can I provide? |

If you are on Linux, check what Phonon backend you are using. We're currently recommending the xine backend.
PS: Many distributions allow to install debug packages separately, e.g. "amarok-dbg".

Well that's really strange, I recompiled (to compile with debug) and the problem is gone... I'll go on testing.

Hmm I have this exact problem. Mandriva Cooker, KDE 4.3.1. On mine the sone will eventually play but it may take several minutes. Amarok does not appear to crash though.

I changed backend to xine and rebooted. All works again.
