Okay, this one's making me scratch my head...using Amarok 2.2 final.
According to the collection-list, there are 14590 tracks in my collection. However, according to Dolphin and find the folder where my collection is stored only contain 14380 files. How can the collection be bigger than the number of available music-files? Especially since some tracks that should be present are nowhere to be found.

Hm, do you have playlists? That could explain the wrong count. FYI, the playlists show up in the "My playlists" browser then.
Also, what format are those files that should be there and are not shown? Since Amarok reads the id3 tags to build a collection, files that do not support tags (like *.wav for example) will of course not show up. We are working on finding a way to show those by file names.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Yes, I have quite a few playlists stored but if Amarok counts those as entries in the total count of tracks available I'd consider it a bug. As you say, they show up in "My playlists" (or "Saved playlists" now) and that's the only place where they should be. They shouldn't affect "Local collection", whether shown or not. Still, I will temporarily move my database out of the way and start from scratch and see if that improves things.
And as far as the missing files goes: those that I'm aware the database doesn't know about are mp3-files (and they used to be there, although I'm not quite sure when Amarok forgot about them). There may be more missing tracks that I haven't noticed yet, but I only have three different file-types: mp3, ogg, and flac.

Okay, update:
After having backed up the old database (actually, everything in ~./.kde4/share/apps/amarok really) I've tried both: 1. Starting from scratch (IOW, remove the amarok dir above) 2. Just rebuilding the database. In both cases, the missing tracks showed up again. Which in turn probably explains why the number of available tracks increased to 14605. The second problem is fixed, although I wonder it crept in to begin with. The first problem is larger than before although not by a large amount. I thought first it could be because I've used the "Show under Various Artists" option, and since that for some reason show every album I've had to do that for more than once I thought maybe every extra entry would be counted and thus inflate the numbers but that wasn't the case.
