Using Amarok 2.1.1 on KDE 4.3.2; I had something around 14000 tracks in my music library before I upgraded from KDE 4.3.1 to 4.3.2 (but iirc, Amarok wasn't upgraded, so I don't think it should have any impact). Now my Amarok collection always gets stuck at 4000 something, or 3000 something tracks, and I'm obviously not able to find some songs:
Here is what songbird shows me when I add the same path to the library there: Same for VLC, where I can find the songs which I cannot in Amarok. I also tried to delete ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/amarokcollectionscanner_batchincrementalinput.data and ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/collection_* -- which did clear my collection, but re-adding the file again gives me 3000 or 4000 files. I updated my collection numerous times, yet more tracks aren't being added. What am I missing here? |

Please file a bug report and CC mitchell at kay dee eee dot org.
If you can narrow down particular tracks which aren't properly being scanned/read in and make them available for me to look at, that would be great. |

I have mailed you a copy of a song which it's unable to track. |

Also, please upgrade to Amarok 2.2. We've fixed many bugs.

Ah yeah, when you upgraded I thought you meant that you had upgraded Amarok as well. Please try upgrading to 2.2 and let me know how it goes (it should trigger a full rescan).
I just got 4.3.2 installed so I'll look at that track again; with 4.3.1 it scanned normally. |

Just installed Amarok 2.2-GIT-NEON from http://ppa.launchpad.net/project-neon/ppa/ubuntu
The scanning process freezes at 31% giving me 3845 tracks. After remaining frozen for a couple of minutes, the scanning stops and I am left with the incomplete collection again. |

And the missing tracks do not show up when you restart Amarok? Sometimes the CollectionView refresh doesn't show them immediately.
Running a rescan after starting amarok form a konsole with --debug can give you an idea if it is blocking on some files.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Hi there
I've got Kubuntu 9.10 (development version - wich cannot be updated ad it is the same as the stable version or so I've been told) and Amarok 2.2 Amorok can't scan my collection. It stops at 60% (how can that be 60%, when the result at that time is about 100 songs an i've got about 25.000 songs?). My collection located on a external USB-HDD (That has never been a problem before). I have tried to COPLETELY remove Amarok through Synaptic. But nevertheless does Amarok remember all my settings after I have reinstalled - - I'm puzzled?!? Any ideas how I can fix this? Regards Bajagan P.S. I have tried to run Amarok --debug from the konsole, but I have no idea what to look for |

I've obvserved the same (or a similar) issue using ubuntu 9.10's package; it would always hang at the same percentage while using 100% cpu. Closer inspection using lsof revealed there actually was some very slow progress, taking around 2-5 minutes for each mp3 file. The only common detail obvious to me between those files were embedded jpegs of unusual sizes, 1.5mb 1400x900.

Hi again
My problem is solved. I moved a tiny part of my collection to /home/user/music and selected that as well as a collection folder and WHOAW all my song reappeared in Amarok |
