Bad album grouping

Wed Oct 21, 2009 10:31 am
I have a problem in amarok - same album is not being properly grouped in playlist and local collecton.

For e.g.:
http://imagebin.org/68633

This should appear all under one album, but it doesn't. I've inspected tags
and they seems to be fine.
What could be the problem?

This happens with recent git and 2.2.

Ok, the problem is not with playlist - it gets different album objects when dragging this album to it.

EDIT:
If I take a look ad DB:
Code: Select all
            id    name    artist    image
            292   NFS Carbon   192   NULL
            520   NFS Carbon   381   NULL
            548   NFS Carbon   NULL   NULL
            717   NFS Carbon   515   NULL
            925   NFS Carbon   694   NULL
            1707   NFS Carbon   1263   NULL

Seems like scanner is splitting album apart. :S

Looks like different albumartists (not artists!) are used in your tags.
Try editing the tags with an external tagger. (I recommend easytag)
Rename the album to "Need for Speed Carbon" and genre to Soundtrack
Check, if Amarok groups it into Various Artists.
On success, rename the album back or leave it.

Indeed they were, but I removed those. Also it was said that amarok 2.2 doesn't use this tag at all.
Nevertheless I removed it, but that didn't work unfortunately.

Move the folder containing the album out of your collection and let Amarok scan. The move it back to its origin

That didn't work either, I've also purged collection several times during testing.
I'm uploading those file to jefferai so he will take a look, it really seems like the problem is
inside scanner.

A rather good work around for this problem is to use the playlist sorting...
