Hi,

I have been going mad trying with every new version of Amarok 2 to import my MySQL collection database (especially the score/rating) from 1.4. With this latest version (2.2) I first tried the 'Import Collection' option. The debug output gave me a load of errors like:

Code: Select all
amarok: [ERROR!] Couldn't copy image "001299baf99974a18c5078a2dc50715f"
amarok: image copy: "004e30301b487987e8bb79bdfaa93073"  :  "/home/roxland/.kde/share/apps/amarok/albumcovers/large/004e30301b487987e8bb79bdfaa93073"

and then one message per directory like

Code: Select all
amarok:          "/home/roxland/tunes/artists/2_many_djs/_AMAROKMTIME_1186936171"

And after a while just a 'Failed: No tracks were imported' message in the Import Collection window.

The very first error I get in the debug output is
Code: Select all
amarok: ERROR: Database temporary table setup did not complete.  This is probably a result of no directories being scanned.

I know there is now an external MySQL DB option but when I try to use it I get this error:

Code: Select all
amarok: [ERROR!] Tried to perform escape() on uninitialized MySQL
amarok: Initialized thread, count== 3
amarok: [ERROR!] Tried to query an uninitialized m_db!

and then I have a collection with zero tracks in it. :(

I tried installing libmysqlclient16 and libmysqlclient16-dev as instructed at http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/Development/MySQL_Embedded but now the nightly build just crashes instead of loading up. Can anyone help? I have a Ubuntu Jaunty and yesterday's nightly build of AmaroK 2.2.

The nightly builds (NEON) are using KDE 4.4 and Qt 4.6. There's currently a known bug in Qt that can make Amarok crash (will be fixed soon). See the comments here for more details:
