Two problems in Ubuntu Karmic 9.10 beta 64-bit with Amarok 2.2
If I mount the iPod before loading Amarok, Amarok will not go beyond the splash screen. It just hangs there indefinitely with Amarok taking up 100% CPU usage until I end the process. If I load Amarok before mounting the iPod I have no option in Amarok to connect the iPod. Device is a Classic 120GB which was previously working fine with Jaunty and Amarok 1.4 Cheers Tom |

Please make a bug report to http://bugs.kde.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=amarok and attach the output you get on the konsole after starting amarok with -d --nofork as options.
As for the second problem, this would be another bug report. Make sure you have libgpod installed correctly. The iPod should show in the Local Music view as a media device.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

I won't file a bug, as since doing a reinstall I found it will load VERY slowly with the iPod mounted, or will load ok without it, but will then hang for about five minutes when you mount the iPod. Could be because my iPod's got 60GB on.

Hm, yes, with a lot of data to scan this can take some time, indeed

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm guessing that this is probably my issue.
