I stuck with Amarok 1.4 for a long time due to good iPod support. I just upgraded to 2.2 and received the following error in the applet section the first time I ran 2.2:

Code: Select all
could not find requested component: mediadevices

Needless to say, I'm unable to connect to my iPod. I've tried searching both this forum and Google for a solution with no luck.

Which operating system (or distro)?

Sounds like a packaging problem to me. Do you have libgpod installed?

Else you should report a bug against Ubuntu.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

Yeah, please report this to the Kubuntu packagers. They might be able to fix it.

I removed amarok and it's dependencies, then manually deleted all the packages, reinstalled, and it works fine now.

Thanks for the help,
Matt
