I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 w/ Amarok 2.2, and whilst the setup is currently enough to make me move from Windows XP to Linux Ubuntu full-time, I cannot get my iTunes (8.0.1) Library stuff into Amarok 2.2.
My library is located by the path G:\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl (/media/Darkbook/My Documents/My Music/iTunes/iTunes Library.itl in Ubuntu) and, in the same directory, iTunes Library.xml, G:\ being my 1TB External HD. When attempting to load each, I get the message: "Error: Failed: Unable to import statistics" So... ultimately, A) what's wrong, and B) how can I get my iTunes Library into Amarok? (Ftr, Rhythmbox doesn't load it either for some reason...) |

If you only want to use the music itself, you don't have to "Import" it. Just point Amarok's collection to the right directories.
Why the statistics import doesn't work I cannot say. It might be buggy.

Hi,
same problem, I would like to import the iTunes music library to load covers because when I import music from my music folder, covers are not included.. Is there another way to get all the covers stocked insides mp3 ? |

You can put the covers in the id3 tags, but Amarok doesn't read those currently. Also, it's quite a bloat to the file size.
You didn't specify which exact Amarok version you are using, btw...
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Hi,
I also have problems moving from iTunes to Amarok 2. When I try to import iTunes library to Amarok there is no errors, but nothing is moved. There is just "Migrating" and white box, but nothing happens. What should happen? I have several important playlist and a lot of cover arts in my iTunes library. My files are not mp3, they are m4a. Is it supported with cover art? I have also rated every track with iTunes, does Amarok import that information also? For now I have to use iTunes via wine and that is not funny. |

Using iTunes is never funny :-)
But normally Amarok should import of course the tags and your statistics. Embedded covers aren't supported at all :-( Playlist won't get imported, as far as I know. But you didn't announce your Amarok and iTunes version, so... Regards m0nk
