[bug]I wanted to set Amarok to default to PulseAudio output after my HDA Intel devices weren't working, so I went to Settings->Configure Amarok...->Playback->Sound system configuration Configure->Device Preference->Audio Output, and set my default output device preference to prefer PulseAudio above HDA Intel, applied it, and then I exited Amarok.

I reopened Amarok, got the same notification that my HDA Intel devices weren't working, and realized I didn't change the preference for the individual subcategories under Audio Output in the device preference chooser. So I went back to that settings window and hit the convenient Apply Device List To... button, and checked all of the devices under Audio Output. My issue is that the Apply button in the Device Preference window doesn't become clickable, and I had to make a superficial edit (swapping two device preferences twice) in order to make the Apply button clickable and to make PulseAudio my actual default. Otherwise, I thought that clicking OK would set the devices to how I wanted, but in this case hitting OK had the same effect as hitting Cancel.

This really isn't a pressing issue, persay, but I thought it would be good to at least get it out there.[/bug]

The bug you reported here is not a bug with Amarok, but a bug with the Phonon control panel. The bug you note here has already been filed at bugs.kde.org.
