Hello guys,
I swear I looked both here and on KDE forums, but didn't find a solution. Now, when I'm on Karmic and with Amarok 2.2 I can't play any song from my shared collection. fstab entry follows:
If I try to play them, It just flicks rapidly through them stating that there were too many errors. What's a bit strange is that Amarok shows a collection named "Shared music on Dlink-7e3030", which doesn't contain all the music though. and it's possible to play it. A path to these files begin with daap:// (I don't know what it means) I tried to run amarok with -debug and the result is:
I am on Kubuntu 9.10 |

Just FYI, both KDE forums and Amarok forums are the same
About your problem, delete ~/.xine/catalog.cache and see if that helps (assuming you are using the xine backend for KDE). |

daap:/ is the protocol created by Apple for iTunes media sharing. It is likely that the D-Link has adopted this ( probably along with UPNP ) for sharing media. Amarok is able to utilise this protocol.
Have you verified that you can copy files off the mounted share without issues?

Thank you for your replies. I suppose I'm using xine (I checked:) ), but deleting the file didn't solve it (._.) I have read write access on the device and I can copy files with no difficulties. I don't understand why I can play them through DAAP and not through cifs. Another thing which is bizarre is that through daap I can't see all the music files (._.)

Try to access other types of file on the share eg. text document. I have the same problem and I can create and remove files but access files fails. Every time I try to read an file I get this lines in /var/log/messages:
Status code returned 0xc0000022 NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED CIFS VFS: Send error in read = -13. |
