Upgrading from 1.4 w/MySQL to 2.2

Tue Nov 10, 2009 7:56 pm
Hello,

I've been using Amarok 1.4.x together with MySQL 5.0.x without problems for more than 2 years.

Recently I switched from KDE3 to KDE 4.3.1 and today I also switched Amarok from 1.4.10 to 2.2.0.

Amarok scanned my collection and I'm able to play all songs, but I lost all statistics and song texts, that's 10,000 songs, most of them with text.

What's the best way to get my data back?

Gentoo doesn't have a stable MySQL 5.1 currently.

I will also accept to not use MySQL anymore with Amarok, but I want my stats and texts back. Any chance (except going back to Amarok 1.4.10)?

Help! :((

Problem solved. After some googling I found that I can import my Amarok 1.4 MySQL database.

Worked without problems, all statistics and song texts are back (although it seems I have to convert all of them since they contain html tags and so on. Hope to find a solution for this in the forum or using google).

Oliver
