hello,
my amarok 2.2 does not connect to last.fm. in the settings window it says "success" when entering my user name and password. starting with "amarok -d", the terminal says the following, when entering user name and password in the main window:
any ideas? user name and password are correct. I just purged the three amarok packages and reinstalled them. |

Are you sure there is no typo? It should work.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Yes, I am sure.
Like I said, in the settings box it works and says "success". I also installed the last.fm client, which also works. And I can log in on the last.fm web site. Only Amarok main window, the most important does not work. I wonder if I can reset this "token" thing somehow. Maybe something's wrong in the amarokrc config file? ~/.kde/share/config/amarokrc:

Do you have special characters in your username? Tat can simply be a éàè or öäü

Nope, neither special characters in the user name, nor in the password. I already changed the password several times in order to check that out, but I get the same error message.
Thanks for the help, by the way |

Check kdewallet for your last.fm account. Remove the entry for last.fm. Restart amarok.

Thanks for the hint. I have never used kwallet, though. I just started it the first time and the daemon is off and there's nothing really inside. Just something unidentifiable errorlike "wallet". I purged the package kwalletmanager now, since I don't need it, but amarok still gives the same error message |

According to your amarokrc:
Perhaps you should set it to "yes" to force Amarok to save the password in amarokrc. m0nk

This is a good option. On the other side, try to install last Amarok version because a lot of refactoring was made in LastFM last days and, at least, a bug with configuration was fixed.

YES! That's it, problem solved. Thanks a lot! The password is now stored unencrypted, though. But I will check out kwallet some other day... Cheers! |
