Probably because your distro compiled it without last.fm support. If you're on gentoo, it's a use flag.

lfranchi,

I "live with" slackware and amarok 2.2.1 isn't a distro's package so I've compiled from sources. I've read http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/Compiling:2.0 and compiled it without last.fm switch. So, how can i compile amarok with last.fm feature? Can u link me to appropriate guide?
Thanks a lot.

...mmm, i've read all cmake output and I think my problem is:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-- The following OPTIONAL packages could NOT be located on your system.
-- Consider installing them to enable more features from this software.
+ liblastfm, 0.3 or higher: Enable Last.Fm service, including scrobbling, song submissions, and suggested song dynamic playlists <http://cdn.last.fm/src/liblastfm-0.3.0.tar.bz2>
...

So, as the output says.... you need to install liblastfm. it even provides a link!

lfranchi,

it's my fault. I've not read all README and INSTALL file in decompressed packages before post on forum...:((. Now I've compiled amarok with appropriate packeges/switch and it works great! On slackware 13.0 download ( and compile/install in this order ) the packages:

http://mi.mirror.garr.it/mirrors/MySQL/ ... .40.tar.gz
http://repository.slacky.eu/slackware-1 ... 86-2sl.txz
http://repository.slacky.eu/slackware-1 ... 86-2sl.txz
http://cdn.last.fm/src/liblastfm-0.3.0.tar.bz2
ftp://ftp.unina.it/pub/Linux/kde/stable ... .1.tar.bz2

A note on mysql compilation is that configure script must be executed with "--with-embedded-server" to generate libmysqld library.
Thanks a lot.

additionally, this is now included in slackware-current to date.
