If I open dolphin and click on a mp3 file Amarok 2.2.1 will crash after displaying the splash screen. Sometimes if I close out the crash display and click on the mp3 file again Amarok will launch and play the file.
If I open Amarok and I can select the same mp3 file from the menu and it plays fine. My setup: Amarok 2.2.1 KDE 4.3.3 gcc 4.4.1 glibc 2.10.1 phonon-xine backend pclinuxos 2010 Just wondering if this is a bug or something isolated to our setup. Tex |

Can you start Amarok normally?
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Yes. I can launch Amarok from the menu or konsole, click on play media , go the the same mp3 file, click on it and it plays fine. Also if Amarok is already running and sitting in the systray I can click on a music file from dolphin and Amarok will play it. |

It would be nice to have a backtrace of that crash, it's hard to guess where the problem lies without that. You will need the debugging packages for both Dolphin, Amarok and Phonon to cover most of the possible crash sources.

So I can assume this is a unique crash for us and not happening for others? |

I don't know, since I didn't look at the bug database. Also, since I don't have a backtrace, it is impossible to say where this Crash is. File a bug and give a valid backtrace, then we can look at it.

Bascially I just wanted to know if it was happening to others on a system other than PCLinuxOS before posting a bug report.

I checked the bug database and found this report: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=215432 which you found too, apparently

Yep and the original bug report comes from a pclos system. waaaa. Maybe someone else with a different system will also confirm it or not.

Didn't see this until today, but I can confirm the same bug on my Mandriva 2010-586 install. |

Yes, we already know about it: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=215432, no need to repeat it. If you want to be updated, you can just subscribe to that bug report.

I'm sorry, I must have missed the part where it actually was confirmed by someone not running pclos.
