Hi, I upgraded amarok to the v. 2.2.1 and when I transfer songs to the ipod everything seems fine. Then i try to listen to the song on the ipod and the sound is correct (and tags too) but the song length is completely wrong: for ex. 59:30:25 for a song of 3 minutes... and it happened with every song i tried... Does anyone know where's the problem?
P.S. any chance to get lyrics on the ipod? thanks anyway for this fantastic music player! |

Hm, that looks like a bug, and only happens on iPods apparently. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=215124 describes your findings, I confirmed the bug now. Could you please specify the model you are using in that report? Thank you.

FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Is this still valid for the latest 2.2-git version? Apparently this bug is solved since quite some time now.

ya the bug isnt too valid iv been getting amarok from the opensuse 11.2 kde backports repo so it is olny slightly behind the git but it just happened the day i loaded a few gb's of music on my ipod was the day that it was writing the buggy song lengths to the devices database.
works fine since an update last week or so but im still trying to track down everything i transfered during that time so i can fix the lengths |

I guess not. Actually I switched to 2.2.1 stable. But if i remember correctly I had that problem with wrong track length not when I used a git snapshot from short time after the 2.2.1 release. As I switched back to 2.2.1 stable, the track lengths were wrong again.

I just copied an album to the ipod using Amarok 2.2.2~beta1-1 and everything seems normal. I will copy my entire collection back to the ipod and see if it stays normal.

ya thats what i had to do the problem got fixed but you still need to fix tags on the ipod. and you dont need to re copy your stuff you just need to make it rewrite the tags so just select everything on the ipod add something to the comment and that should cuase the ipod db to be written with tags from the files |

Hi.
I'm having same problems, but I don't use ipod. I have a creative zen v plus 4gb. I'm using debian squeeze with kde 4.3.4 and I've upgraded to amarok 2.2.2-1 (sid's package). I also upgraded libmtp8 to version 1.0.1-1 (sid) because I was having segfaults with older version when connect the dispositive. I have rescaned my collection, and locally, amarok shows correct lenght, but when I transfer song to the zen, the lenght is wrong. I don't know how to correct this. Any ideas?. Thanks. |

Please note that if you downgrade Amarok, all sorts of weird things can happen, if you don't delete your config and database. Most applications don't really support downgrading (it's very complicated to get this right), and Amarok is one of them.

Dear markey,
do you really think I wouldnt have known that? You should know better, at least in the case that you have noticed that I'm a little bit experienced with A2 after the whole last year. As I said I switched back from git to stable, I did that for a reason. And with that decision, clearly came a completely new instance of all amarok related, files and folders and the mysql db. I'll try it with 2.2.2 tonight and I guess, that my files will have their right length again, then. |

You could do what I did and upgrade to Amarok 2.2.2~beta1-1 from the Experimental repository, or downgrade to Amarok 1.4.10-2 from the Stable (Lenny) repo. |

No need for Beta 2.2.2, there has been a release yesterday. 2.2.2 is available.

Hi.
Today I've made a fresh install from sid repos (2.2.2) and the problem persists. I'm going to make a new fresh install of 1.4 version. It works better for me. Thanks buddies. |
