DAAP and collection

Sat Dec 12, 2009 2:12 pm
I resently went from ubuntu to kubuntu. But halas, amarok is un-usable for me.

I have my NAS, with a DAAP share on it. Amarok detect it ok, display the list, but wrongly. Some of my mp3 have no label for artist or album, and amarok seams to be filling them at random with others artist / album names.
I know my daap server is not the casue of that, as Rymthbox, and amarok 2.1 on suse, gets on well with it.
I did re-install, update, delete database, refesh..

Any ideas there ?

I am.
Like I said, 2.1 works, 2.2 don't.

well, no, if you say 2.2 it's not 2.2.1, you really should be more precise.
Do a full collection rescan, then restart Amarok.
Also, since Amarok needs id3 tags to write a decent collection, you should tag your tracks correctly. Filename detection for the collection will be in Amarok 2.2.2, to be released in January.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

Right, i guess i wasn't clear enough.

That's version 2.2.1.
Name for my tracks are filled. Album or Artist sometimes are not. Amarock 2.1.X don't have any problem whatsoever with that.

I wanna try it by mounting the disk. I think it have something to do with daap.

I have a similar problem (see my thread), except that in my case, Amarok fetches all metadata correctly except for track numbers. I dunno if it's related, but I haven't really been able to find any solutions for it anywhere.
