More information: I am using mandriva 2009.1 x86_64. $ amarok --version Qt: 4.5.2 KDE: 4.2.4 (KDE 4.2.4) Amarok: 2.1.1 When I try to launch amarok I got the follow error: $ amarok <unknown program name>(18517)/: Communication problem with "amarok" , it probably crashed. Error message was: "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply" : " "Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken." " To get the full strace here is the link: http://pastebin.ca/1719569 |

I strongly suggest you update to Amarok 2.2.1 first, version 2.1.1 is completely outdated.
Also, that strace doesn't really show something useful, try starting Amarok from a konsole using the options '-d --nofork' (without the ') and check if there is a better output.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |
