collection doesn't list any tracks

Mon Dec 21, 2009 6:29 pm
Hi, I'm on kubuntu 9.10 and I had this problem on amarok 2.2 and it's still there now that I've upgraded to 2.2.1. I've also done a full rescan of my collection.
If I open up collection, pick any artist, expand that, an album appears. When I click to expand that then nothing appears.
If I try to drag an ablum over to the playlist, I get a little "no entry" symbol.
If I search for a track name then the artist and album that track is listed under will appear, but the track will not appear.

in short, the collection doesn't work.

any ideas?

Do you have any special characters in the folder name or the file name?
We have recently changed some scanning options for 2.2.2 that might solve that issue. Amarok 2.2.2 is to be released in a few weeks.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

no special characters, it's in store/mp3 where it's always been and it worked fine until a couple of weeks ago

Hm, did you report this when it happened first? The faster you file a bug report, the faster it gets fixed.

Try this, while Amarok is not running:

Code: Select all
mv $HOME/.kde/share/apps/amarok/mysqle $HOME/.kde/share/apps/amarok/mysqle-backup

after much headbanging with the aasf support (who uses asf these days?) I managed to get amarok 2.2.2 beta compiled and that makes no difference.
I followed markeys suggestion and now it works grand.
So should the "full rescan" option not just completely scrub the previous entries?
Is that a bug? I'm not so sure. If I could tell you when exactly it broke I would have a better idea but as it is, it's all too vague.

thanks for your help

ah, that's a somewhat heavy handed approach, it removed all my stats and all my podcast info.
I copied all my podcast stuff from the backup though and I could probably do tyhe same with the stats
