2.2.2beta shows multiple/repeated copies of podcast episodes

Hi all --

I recently compiled and installed 2.2.2 beta (I even went so far as to make my first RPM for it for Fedora! If anyone is interested in a howto for that, just ask!).

So far I think it's great. I love the changes to the podcast especially (the moodbar thing is pretty fun also).

But, I've noticed some weird behaviour with one of the podcasts that I subscribe to:

http://www.xlr8r.com/podcast.rss

Subscribing works, but each time the feed is fetched/updated, each episode for this feed is duplicated in the listing. Eventually this leads to dozens of entries for each episode, and hundreds for the whole feed. It gets so bad that expanding the episode list for that feed will take 10-15 seconds (during which time amarok becomes pretty un-responsive. The audio is stable at least).

This feed was doing fine in 2.2.1. I tried deleting/re-subscribing to the feed, but the behaviour is the same.

Hrm -- I also just noticed that a couple of other feeds are doing the same thing:

Is this already a known bug, or am I just listening to some weirdo podcasts?

cheers.

hi, I'm getting this as well for these two podcasts
http://rockandrollscience.podomatic.com/rss2.xml
http://allingoodtme.podomatic.com/rss2.xml

these were carried over from the previous version. I ttired removing the subscription and re-adding ti but it hasn't helped

I upgraded yesterday and now it's listing the same episodes 12 times

also, an option to go back to the smaller podcast icons would be nice

/edit i;m on kubuntu 9.10 btw

looks like it is a reported bug already
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=219516

although I don't understand the solution

I can confirm this on openSuse 11.1

KDE 4.3.4
Amarok 2.2.1.90 (from http://download.opensuse.org/repositori ... SUSE_11.1/
)

I have about 20 subscribed podcasts of which 3 are showing this behaviour;

http://www.fsrn.org/taxonomy/term/4/0/feed
http://feeds.feedburner.com/linuxoutlaws
http://thejeffandmikeshow.podomatic.com/rss2.xml

I'd also like to echo the request for the option to have smaller podcast icons...

Thanks,
Cadaver

Because there only is a partial solution applied to the 2.2-git branch, not something you can use as a workaround in your version.

Patience, we are working on it :)

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

Just curious if there was a workaround-fix for this.

Looks like the behaviour is still the same in 2.2.2, though I haven't tried dropping/re-creating the database yet.

thanks!

I can confirm that this behaviour still exists with the same feeds that I listed in a previous post.

Amarok 2.2.2-53.1 (from the same repo as previous)
Opensuse 11.1
KDE 4.3.4

I've tried;

-deleted ~/.kde4/share/apps/amarok
-deleted ~/.kde4/share/config/amarok*
-tried a new user account

Thanks,
Cadaver
