Hi,
I've got some songs without the tag album filled but with the cover set. Then, in the collection and in the playlist Amarok don't retrieve that covers. Are there any preference to do that? Thanks, ValM. |

If the cover is in the id3 tag, these are not read currently, but covers in the folder should be visible. Else you can choose those specifically with the context menu.
BTW, you should upgrade to Amarok 2.2.1, see also http://kubuntu.org/news/amarok-2.2.1, there have been a lot of fixes since version 2.2.0. Once upgraded, do a full collection rescan and restart Amarok.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Well. I didn't explain well. I said that Amarok 2.2.1 is unavailable through Synaptic. Then my question is: Is it sure to follow those steps for a Ubuntu 9.10? I'm new in Linux World and I don't want to do something very wrong!! These are the steps I have to follow for install Amrok 2.2.1:
- sudo su -c 'echo "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/ppa/ubuntu karmic main" >> /etc/apt/sources.list' - sudo su -c 'echo "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/backports/ubuntu karmic main" >> /etc/apt/sources.list' - sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 2836CB0A8AC93F7A - sudo aptitude update && sudo aptitude safe-upgrade - ... and I suppose finally install it through Synaptic. Do you think that is going to work ok in my S.O.? Thanks Mamarok!! |

Y upgrade Amarok to 2.2.1 but the problem was not solved. If the TAG Album in not filled then the cover doesn't appear in collection neither playlist. Do you have any new idea? Thanks. ValM.

Val, have you tried to fill in the Album tag with something like "unknown album" or "non-album tracks", "live", or "single"? I'm sure you can come up with something suitable.
You might want to use a tagging program to do this, if you have lots of tracks to tag. I've used picard, easy-tag, and kid3 - all have their strong points and weaknesses. |

Well. This was the "Plan B". I think it will do that the covers appear, but I wanted the covers appear without fill the album ID3v2 TAG...

Amarok relies on good tags. Use a good tagger, to make it easy for you. Picard leads the pack, as long as the album is in the Musicbrainz database.
