Hi,

the changelog for Amarok 2.2.2 B1 says that it is now possible to fetch labels from last.fm.

I didn't find a way how to do this. Can somebody point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance,

Oliver

You don't have to do anything, it is configured to fetch covers from last.fm by default.
Activate "Automatically retrieve cover art" in the settings and it will look up last.fm for the missing covers.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

Covers vs. labels. I'm a bit confused now. Or is it just Mamarok?
Oceanwaves is talking about labels and Mamarok is talking about the weather in Nairobi.
You should read the posts more carefully.

@Oceanwaves In the Changelog you only find this:

Fetch labels from last.fm for some tracks [UPDATE THIS ONCE WE FIGURE OUT WHEN TO DO SO]

So , it seems, that it doesn't really work for now.

Thanks for the clarification. I just read about the new features described on http://amarok.kde.org/es/node/716 where it just said
# Custom Labels has returned. Assign labels from the tag dialog, and see them in the tag dialog or in the playlist.
# Fetch labels from last.fm for some tracks

I'll wait for the next beta or the release of 2.2.2...

Indeed, I should have read more carefully and maybe shouldn't do things when tired... sorry for the confusion :(

It doesn't work just yet. The feature was meant to be finished for 2.2.2, but then we ran out of time.

We might be able to finish it for 2.2.3.

If you want more information, talk to "Hydrogen" in #amarok on irc.freenode.net, he developed this feature.

Any news on how this is coming along? I have been hanging around #amarok, but hydrogen is nowhere to be seen...

is this feature still being worked on? combined with the playlist generator, it would be pure awesome.
