Amarok 2.2.2beta, Kubuntu 9.10
Having failed to get Amarok and Clip+ working together in MTP mode, I switched back to MSC. I can move tracks to the Clip+ using the file manager, but not from within Amarok. If I right-click the track, select move to collection > SANSA CLIPP Amarok returns an error that the device is full. But it's brand-new, practically empty. Any ideas? -gary |

There has been some improvement on the MTP Handler code since 2.2.2 beta, you should try again with Amarok 2.2.2 final, due later today.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

My Kubuntu had an unrelated video problem, so I decided to do a complete fresh re-install of Kubuntu to see if it would help with the video and Amarok problems. I installed 2.2.2 final, and for some reason it went more smoothly than last time. In the meantime, Sansa came out with a firmware upgrade (01.02.09) and I installed that, too.
Now Amarok does not see the Clip+ at all, in either MTP or MSC mode. There is no mention of any Collections whatsoever in a track's right-click context menu, and no mention of any collections on the main GUI other than "Local Collection". I can transfer files via OS file manager in MSC mode, but that's the only way to communicate with the Clip+. Oh ... but I haven't tried the linux libmtp tools yet. They did work previously. I'll let you know how that works Can anyone report on how Amarok on Linux works for them on a Clip+? I've seen reports supposedly about the Clip+, but they turned out to be about the Clip. So I'm not certain I've ever seen a report of success for the Clip+. -garyp |

Kubuntu 9.10 does have some serious bugs in Udev, which does the USB device handling (MTP devices are also USB, devices, technically). Many people are having problems with that (including me), but the developers know about it, and they are working on a fix.

One tip:
Try to plug in the device several times, in different ports. Sometimes that helps.
