Because nobody had time to work on the MTP stack. This is on our radar for Amarok 2.7 though.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

Doesn't seem to be working in 2.7. Or, at least, if it is implemented, I can't get it to work.

I admit to some frustration here. This ability to synchronize playlists between Amarok and my MP3 player was my favorite feature in Amarok 1.4, which was, overall, a clean and finished product. I understand that the code base was messed up pretty much beyond repair, but I do wish there were a way to keep it around on my desktop computer. None of the other touted features, such as integration with last.fm or Magnatune or what-not, are of no interest to me at all.

I do hope that this feature is actually forthcoming instead of being pushed back or put "on the radar" to be pushed back to further and further releases.
