EDIT: ive just figured it out AMAROK DOESNT USE INTERNET CONNECTION
so i have little problem here..
details:
distro: slackware 13
kernel: 2.6.29.6-smp
kde: 4.3.4
qt: 4.5.2

i can add a fact that global shortcuts (such as ctrl+tab, alt+tab) stopped working

what the hell is there?
shall i re-make whole program with some extra options?

----begin OLD part of post---------
I've met with a brand new bug in the last release
when i try to test logging in the options of last.fm plugin i push the test button
Code: Select all
amarok: BEGIN: void LastFmServiceSettings::testLogin()
amarok:   [lastfm] username: "anath0r"
amarok: END__: void LastFmServiceSettings::testLogin() - Took 0.0012s
amarok: BEGIN: void LastFmServiceSettings::onAuthenticated()
amarok:   [lastfm] Unhandled QNetworkReply state, probably not important
amarok: END__: void LastFmServiceSettings::onAuthenticated() - Took 0.00038s
and nothing happends, button is still grey... i cant wait for hours so i click OK in window and get
amarok: BEGIN: void ScanManager::startIncrementalScan()
****i have bugged mysql so it puts an error here******
amarok: END__: void ScanManager::startIncrementalScan() - Took 0.0019s
amarok: BEGIN: void ServiceConfig::slotConfigComitted(const QByteArray&)
amarok:    config comitted for:  "amarok_service_lastfm"
amarok: END__: void ServiceConfig::slotConfigComitted(const QByteArray&) - Took 0.00025s
and when i get to main window:
amarok: BEGIN: LastFmService::LastFmService(LastFmServiceFactory*, const QString&, const QString&, QString, const QString&, bool, bool)
amarok:    username: "anath0r"

As suggested in the last paragraph: did you try again later?

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

i think amarok is NOT using the internet- wikipedia and lyrics doesnt work
so i should have given topic another, appropriate name...

Well, it works fine here, I very much doubt this is an Amarok related problem. Check your Internet connection and eventual proxy and/or firewall settings.

thats an evasive answer!
i find out many 'miracle bugs' in every version of amarok, i always build it on my own
since 2.0 version there are many complications with this soft, 1.x was always clear and fast, mostly...

i think its a problem with some library but i cant recognize which one. there are always problems with .so files on slackware :P
thus, it would be great if there was a package for slack :)

Well, it works fine here in both 2.2.2 and 2.2-git on Kubuntu 9.10, uisng KDE SC 4.4 RC 1, so this is for sure not an Amarok problem.

How about talking to the Slackware people to provide a recent package?

What is the output of "solid-network query status"?

Look for a line like: "networking: is enabled"

If it says disabled and you have an internet connection, you are experiencing a Solid bug that occurs whenever a backend is unavailable ( currently only Wicd and Network Manager backends exist )
