hi,
my system is gentoo amd64, kde 4.3.4, amarok 2.2.0. my mp3 files are stored on a portable usb HD. sometimes, i start amarok without plug my HD, and all mp3 info. are gone. the next time, i start amarok with my hd plugged, amarok will re-scan my hd and got all the mp3 info. i think this is ok. but my problem is, there some files that the attributes are not correct. if i correct them, and then amarok scanned my hd, all the values are revert back. i think amarok did not save the change back to the original file. i wonder if there's a way to persist the change to my files. thanks, David |

David, first update your Amarok. The current version is 2.2.2, and LOTS of bugs have been fixed from .0 days.
Second, be sure to quit Amarok by choosing quit from the menu, or use Control-Q. If you just use the X, Amarok just minimizes, instead of actually quitting. Quite a bit of data is writting at quit. Finally, you didn't specify what attributes were being lost, but if it is tags, you are better off using a tagger such as Picard or EasyTag, rather than relying on Amarok for mass-tagging. |
