OS - Ubuntu 9.10

I installed 1.4.10 because,well, I just like it better.
When I set the folder for music then use Update collection or Rescan collection, the mouse cursor animates for a few seconds (as if it is working), but the collection never gets populated.
I am using SQLite for the database.

Any ideas?

1.4 is years out-of-date, so I hardly remember. However, did you check which directories (folders) you have Amarok set to check? If you have it set to check your entire hard drive, it can choke. Also, you'll pick up random sound files that way.

Also, you may want to run Amarok from the console so you can see what it's doing.

You will not find much help here for 1.4, sorry.
