With the most recent version I cannot manage my Creative Zen Touch.
The firmware of the player is the mtp version and worked with amarok 1.4 perfectly. A first connect is recognized by amarok; all music on the player is being displayed correctly. It seems that deletion of music works. Transfer does not. Transferring a title will result in a display of the artist, but nor album nor title. After a failed transfer a disconnect will not work either. Amarok says disconnected, player stays in docking mode. My system: - openSUSE 11.2 2.6.31.8-0.1-desktop #1 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux - libmtp8(x86-64) = 1.0.1-2.2 - amarok 2.2.2-4.1 I have googled quite some time now, but didn't find appropriate help. Thx in advance. |

This is a known problem with libmtp, see also the bug report here:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=204251
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Try getting the latest version of LibMTP, they might have fixed some bugs.
http://libmtp.sourceforge.net/ PS: According to this list here, support for all Creative MTP devices is "perfect" now. http://libmtp.sourceforge.net/compatibility.php

You may want to look into Gnomad.
I was able to use it to transfer files to my Zen. Then one day I got tired of it and threw it out. Then I bought an MP3 player capable of drag and drop. OK, my Zen died inexplicably. But I still threw it out. |

Thx for the replies to Mamarok and markey.
I wasn't sure about the bug though, because amarok didn't crash. But may try a down grade as well as waiting for the next release. In regards to tubasoldier. I've been using amarok now for years with my Zen Touch and have been very happy. Would appreciate to stay with amarok, but.... |
