I'm experience a problem with Amarok accessing files on CIFS or NFS network shares. Amarok will play MP3, FLAC, and OggVorbis files with no problem, but shows no ID3 tag information and all the track lengths are zero. I have confirmed the file metadata with kid3.

If I copy the files from the network mount to a local directory like /tmp and play the files from there, everything shows up correctly.

How can I debug this?

Hi,

I have described the same problem here: viewtopic.php?f=115&t=85880

Maybe it could be reported as a bug.

It is similar to this bug, also concerning a remote share:

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=220612

The reason is most likely the same.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...
