Amarok 2.3.0, KDE 4.4.1 - no collection or covers

Seems the rest of Amarok is working OK. I can find my music in its folder and display a list of the albums but not always the individual songs. All are MP-3. Can move a song to playlist and play but covers are not displayed even though I can see the cover within the file list. What am I doing wrong or missing. Have enjoyed the earlier version of Amarok - great player!

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11 FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...
