Using ubuntu 9.1. Upgrading from earlier version of Amarok (sorry, version unknown).
1) After other problems and posts, finally got Amarok to run. 2) shut down and upon restart got KDE crash report 3) crash report says "data not useful" but I have copied the report below (more info follows the pasted crash report data). Hi rhmgolfs, I remember being a new user and how bewildering everything can be. However, if you are willing to learn, it all gets easier, and you can help by learning how to properly report problems. This helps us help you, too. Please start by reading a couple of webpages:
http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tut ... sh_reports and http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tut ... e_with_GDB Or you might find it easier to read an article about this subject in the latest Amarok Insider: http://amarok.kde.org/en/Insider/Issue_14 (scroll down a bit) When I first started running Amarok from the console, I did it this way:
Now that I have gdb (the debugger) installed, I always run Amarok from the console, this way:
This gives the best output AND allows a backtrace (bt) in case of a crash. Hope this helps, Valorie |

The problem you are having is this here:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=227639 The solution (or rather: workaround) for this problem is also stated somewhere in the many comments of this bug report.
