Hello,
I just upgraded to amarok 2.3 (Gentoo, KDE 4.4.1, external mysql database 5.0.90-r2) and there appears to be a problem linking entries in the playlist to their line(s) in the collection database.
When adding songs from either the "local music" collection or the "files" source, the statistics and tags are disabled for some files but not all:
  • The "Current Track" thingy in the middle does not display "play count", "score" etc. for some tracks
  • The "Rating" stars are all empty. Changing them to any new value gets lost
  • Tags are disabled in the metadata menu for these files
I started with some olddata from a previous install but tried a fresh scan as well.
Some example entries of a file that does not work:
Code: Select all
SELECT * FROM urls where rpath like "%Battery in%";
| id   | deviceid | path                                                                    | directory | uniqueid                                              |
| 2263 |       -1 | ./bla/bla/bla/Blur/Blur - Think tank - 13 - Battery in your leg.mp3 |        99 | amarok-sqltrackuid://f47206718a5d74f28a0072a4b119a098 |

Code: Select all
SELECT * FROM statistics where url = 2263;
id  | url  | createdate | accessdate | score | rating | playcount | deleted |
+-----+------+------------+------------+-------+--------+-----------+---------+
| 119 | 2263 | 1269874883 | 1269889213 | 54.25 |      0 |         4 |       0 |

As you can see, the statistics are present and playcount/score are actually updated.
The rating however is not. And playcount/score are not shown in the Current Track stuff. Tags are disabled as well.
I think I noticed similiar behaviour in previous 2.X installs, using both internal and external databases, but not sure anymore. Havn't used amarok much since 1.4 went dead.

So... what now? Any suggestions?

Edit:
Just found out that I can get songs to work properly by exiting amarok with broken songs in the playlist. At the next start, all is well for as long amarok runs. Quitting again without having those items in the playlist will break them on the next startup.
