the subject field is too small for the title i wanted, which is "amarok 2.3.0 won't detect ipod after eject and reconnect".
ubuntu karmic amarok 2.3.0 when i first connect my ipod (after reboot, presumably), amarok sees it fine. if i eject it from within amarok, then either remount it or eject/reconnect, amarok doesn't see it anymore. i should note that my /media/IPOD is symlinked to /media/NANOOOOO (where gnome automounts my ipod). side note: what's the deal with amarok needing the mountpoint to be /media/IPOD? i don't understand why you can't specify it like in amarok 1.4. anyway, i don't know why it works once, then never again. thoughts? thanks! |

I don't know either, but you might check what's going on within Amarok, by running it from the console:
See what output you get once you eject and then reconnect. Perhaps it is not properly being automounted again? Hard to know without some output. Valorie |

after i eject and reconnect:
the ipod is both mounted and writable by my normal user. if i reboot, i can connect it fine. |

right... if i manually mount my ipod at /media/IPOD, not symlinked, amarok finds it fine. is there a way to tell amarok to use a different mountpoint? i mean, not all ipods are named "IPOD", right?

if it's ipod nano 5g, nothing will detect it (except itunes)

When I installed ifuse (which was not installed by default by openSUSE 11.3 automatically) amarok was able to detect my iPod classic.

This is outdated and only works for old ipod generations. m0nk
