Using Amarok 2.3, 2.2 and 1.4 on various machines and getting music from a DAAP (Firefly) music server. The server sees all of the client machines. Most of the client machines recognize the DAAP music share and stream from it. However, those machines with Amarok 2.2 and 2.3 call kwallet before opening. I understand this is to enable some web services like Last.fm. If I put my password into kwallet, I will not get the DAAP music share when Amarok opens. The Firefly log indicates an authorization error. However, if I cancel kwallet, Amarok will open anyway and the music share will be visible, but probably services depending on kwallet will not work (I haven't tested this yet though).
On one OS, sidux I do not get the DAAP music share whatever I do with kwallet. Amarok --debug has many references to DAAP, but they don't seem useful. How can I troubleshoot this, and get Amarok working fully? EDIT: I saw this bug comment from Myriam Schweingruber on 2010-02-07 on a different DAAP issue: I hope this isn't a black hole! thx, feffer

After some time, I found the reason why Amarok saw my Firefly (daap) server from some machines and not others. Hopefully this might help others who have this problem.
