mp3 tag metadata in Amarok

Tue Apr 13, 2010 12:05 am
I tried using AudioTagTool to edit the tags on my MP3 files. But when I do that, Amarok is not able to view the file any longer.

What tags does Amarok use? How can I clean up the tags? I've tried directly editing them in Amarok, but it never seems to stick.

It sounds like you have a permissions problem in your music directory. I've never used AudioTagTool, but Picard, EasyTag and Kid3 are all popular tagging programs.

Amarok itself can be used to clean up some tags on a small scale, but it isn't a tagging program as such. If your edits "don't stick" -- you have a permissions problem.
