How do a get amarok to recognize my CDROM drive? When started it (usually) sees "Audio CD" under "Local Music" but doesn't recognize any tracks on it, showing "0 tracks". Rhythmbox and smplayer both recognize the drive OK. There isn't any obvious way to configure amarok about the drive location.
In fact it's /dev/sr0: $ ll /dev ... lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 3 2010-04-20 03:26 cdrom -> sr0 Thanks - jon |

You might mention which version of amarok you are using. I have 2.3 and it sees CDs correctly.

Quite right. Very foolish of me to leave this info out. I am running Fedora-11 with all updates installed. Full version info is:
$ amarok --version Qt: 4.6.2 KDE Development Platform: 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2) Amarok: 2.3.0 $ rpm -q amarok amarok-2.3.0-5.fc11.x86_64 |

If you insert a CD, then open Dolphin, and open "audiocd://" are you able to access the CD's contents?
Also, do you have more than one drive?

Dolphin isn't available as a standard part of Fedora-11. At any rate none of the commonest repos provides it. Is this test available from Konqueror, which I could install, though I usually run gnome.
The system has only one CD/DVD drive. Rhythmbox and grip both see it without problems. |

Konqueror will work fine in this situation, although I find it *extremely* unlikely that Dolphin is unavailable in the Fedora repositories in KDE 4.4.2.

Dolphin has been standard in Fedora since KDE 4.0. It is supplied by kdebase.
