I am looking for an intelligible tutorial on getting Amarok to stream audio following a fresh, clean install of F13KDE. I am a noob. Anyway, I tried playing an audio CD. Didn't get very far. I don't know how to mount the CD. I don't know of any other audio formatted file on my system that I can test for playback through Amarok or Xine. I have Xine installed. I saw something on the Internet about the Phonon configuration being correct, but I couldn't make sense of it because it seemed like it might have been for the wrong version of KDE, or of Fedora altogether. Does anyone have any experience with this, or interest in helping me troubleshoot it so that we can get it resolved? Much thanks in advance.

First of all, Amarok is not a streaming application, you can play streams with it though. Is that what you are looking for?
As for network sound, you should ask in a Pulseaudio or Fedora forum, this is independent of Amarok.

FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Well, go to the Playlist Menu -> Add Stream, add your stream address in the dialog window that is showing and the stream will be added to the playlist.

I'm sorry, that is not what I was talking about. I am talking about taking advantage of the Cool Streams tab.
Thanks, |

Well, just select the stream you want to listen to, then. Double click on it should add it to the playlist.

I am sorry that I did not mention that in the first post, but I already tried that. Amarok was working perfectly up until 3-4 weeks ago. My cool streams were playing just as they should. Something went haywire, though. Decided to upgrade for that reason and because F13 is supposed to have libimobiledevice installed for my iPhone. |

Is this valid for all Cool Streams or is it just one or two that don't work anymore? We can't really control the servers where these streams are broadcasted from, but it would be nice to know if some don't work anymore.

I only checked a half dozen of the Cool Streams, but none of them worked. Thanks for your concern.

I tried that here, all streams I tested do work for me. Are you behind a proxy?

Well, since I don't know what the configuration of that access point is, I can't really tell, you should check with a colleague if this is reproducible and eventually approach the sysadmin for your access point.
