Hi, I'm a linux user, not the most expert one, actually i've installed kubuntu 10.4 fresh install (before i've xcfe) and even if the installation work fine, i found a message error in the journal of installation about a sound library. Anyway everything was working fine so i don't really care. Mahke a dpkg configure all and no errors appear.
Start amarok, work fine. Shut down the pc, open again after the first upgrade after installation and amarok don't want to work anymore, crash on startup. So searched a litte bit around in the web, find nothing interesting. Try every solution proposed and nothing work. If i run amarok from a terminal i get this error:
But amarok, if i verify in the system control window, result as running even if invisible. Anyone have an idea? |

Yes, next you can start amarok in gdb, so that you can get a backtrace.
http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/Debugging_HowTo#GDB What works for me in kubuntu:
Please file a bug with this backtrace pasted in, not attached. Shortcut: http://bugs.kde.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=amarok Valorie |

Hi Valorie,
have a problem with the debug. First : when i execute debug on amarok, amarok regulary start and debug never end, if i shut down amarok it's killed by debug program and finally stop. Can be the debug log usefull in this case? Second: when i start amarok in the normal way (launcher using), it start but it s invisible (no window), i can see it running on the system monitor window. Soory for the probably stupid questio , but i don t know well what to do. thx |

Congratulations on finding a fix.
If you have any more problems, perhaps just start amarok via the console:
Then you'll be able to see the output. Valorie |
